An undercover FBI agent has thwarted the plans of an American soldier to help the Islamic State (Isis, Daesh). He posed as a terrorist and the military informed him promptly of his plans and gave him operational documents. Cole Bridges, also known as Cole Gonzales, 22, has had no choice but to plead guilty before a federal district judge.

Bridges joined the US Army in September 2019 and was assigned as a cavalry scout with the 3rd Infantry Division based out of Fort Stewart, Georgia. He began consuming jihadist propaganda online and showed his support for ISIS.

In October 2020, the undercover agent the soldier contacted went into action, believing him to be a terrorist ringleader. During these communications, he expressed his frustration with the US military and his desire to help ISIS. He even provided training and guidance to alleged Daesh fighters to plan attacks in New York City, as well as a US Army training manual and guidance on military combat tactics.

It designed specific military maneuvers intended to help ISIS fighters maximize the lethality of attacks against US troops in the Middle East. And the best way to fortify a terrorist camp to repel a US Special Forces attack, including wiring certain buildings with explosives to kill the troops. You can be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison.
