A ten in Baccalaureate and a 10 in the Evaluation for University Access (EvAU) 2022-2023. Hai Park, an 18-year-old girl of South Korean origin who came to Spain at the age of 8, has achieved excellence by getting the best grades of the Community of Madrid.
Hai is a student of the IES Jaime Ferrán de Collado Villalba who is going to study Law and International Studies at the Carlos III University of Getafe. The young woman recognizes that “not at all” was expected to get a 10the highest score possible.
Her mother and her friends are very proud of her and after this triumph, there is no shortage of hugs, joy and affection. “We are super proud of her... She is the best and she has worked hard”, her friends have expressed. It is not for less because Hai has just become the brightest student in Madrid.
“¡This can not be happening! It is said that I have gotten the best grade here in Madrid”, says Hai, excited and laughing. And although with that smile she hints at the humility that accompanies it, the reasons to celebrate this news are more than justified because neither have passed nor 10 years since he arrived in Spain from South Korea.
The director of IES Jaime Ferrán, Pedro Escobar, recalled that “the first thing Hai had to do was learn Spanish with 8 yearsand then it has been an obstacle course that she has been able to solve”. Meanwhile, Amaia, her high school tutor, has assured that “everything you were telling her she assimilated and I knew it in a minute.”
This note helps Hai to fulfill his dream: to study Law and International Relations. “What I want is for justice to prevail and help people,” said the young woman. Some principles that she puts into practice in her day-to-day life because her friend says that “whenever she had a problem she helped him.”
