Miguel Mendieta was arrested this Thursday for his alleged participation in bribery to try to introduce a cell phone for Miguel Insfrán in the Viñas Cue prison.
Recently, Luis Belotto testified before the Public Ministry and as mentioned by the fiscal agent Osmar Legal, the defendant had provided relevant information for the investigation and this is the first intervention after the declaration of the soldier who offered a sum of money to the custodians from Tío Rico to insert the cell phone.
Prosecutors Osmar Legal and Francisco Cabrera raided Mendieta’s home and Law Firm, who was also linked to the attempted bribery so that Tío Rico would have a cell phone without court control.
It is expected that in the next few hours the prosecutors will make some determination regarding the detained lawyer who is detained in a police station as a result of the decision of the prosecutors investigating the case.
Tío Rico is considered one of the leaders of a transnational criminal structure dedicated to drug trafficking and money laundering. Today his lawyer is also in custody for having participated in an illegal act to benefit Tío Rico with a cell phone in his place of confinement.
