The First Chamber of the Supreme Court has handed down fifteen sentences that resolve fifteen appeals from different Provincial Courts on the so-called ‘truck cartel’. The appeals refer to five manufacturers (MAN, DAF, IVECO, DAIMLER MERCEDES and VOLVO/RENAULT) and address the following issues: 1. Content and scope of the European Commission Decision. The Chamber concludes that the Decision of the European Commission of July 19, 2016, which sanctioned these manufacturers, declared that the collusive agreements had as their object the fixing of prices and gross price increases in the European Economic Area (EEA) and not just an exchange of information. 2.
