From Poggi to Cazzullo, Montefusco and Haber, the ‘Margutta 2023’ in Rome

Tomorrow at 20.30 in Via Margutta, in Rome, during the XXVI edition of the ‘ModArt’ event, in an evening full of art and entertainment, the ‘Margutta Prize’, conceived by Giovanni Morabito and now in its XXII edition, will be awarded. Honorary President of the Margutta Prize the director Gabriele Salvatores. ModArt and Margutta Prize 2023 is realized with the contribution of the Fondazione Cultura e Arte, an instrumental body of the Fondazione Terzo Pilastro – Internazionale chaired by prof. adv. Emmanuel FM Emmanuel. The event, hosted by Valeria Oppenheimer, is sponsored by the Department of Culture of the City of Rome and the I Municipio Roma I Centro.

The Margutta Prize, which has always been a symbol of creativity and intellectual fecundity, represented by a sculpture created by the artist Angela Pellicanò, will be awarded in 2023 to Daniela Poggi (cinema), Ascanio Celestini (theatre), Eduardo Montefusco (music), Lda ( entrepreneurship), Aldo Cazzullo (literature), Alessandro Haber (cinema), Tiberio Timperi (television), Filippo Lafontana (fashion). During the event, the clothes of Filippo Lafontana will be paraded. The Art section, coordinated by monogram contemporary art of Via Margutta 102, artistic director Giovanni Morabito, will present the performances of the White Circus. The exhibition ‘Icons. Pau and his spare creative Kaos’ by the artist Pau, leader of the Negritas.

Comment the prof. Emanuele, president of the Third Pillar Foundation – International which supports the event, awarded the Margutta Prize for Art in 2020: “I have been close to this Prize for many years, which has reached the remarkable milestone of the XXII edition, as it has a double merit.The first, that of combining fashion and entertainment with the figurative arts, reaffirming the transversal and universal value of culture, the second, that of keeping alive the iconic Via Margutta, which has always, in Rome, together with the Trident, was the privileged stage for artists and intellectuals, with whom I myself had the opportunity to deal with in my youth”.
