This chain will focus on production from the Basque Country and export to the Netherlands and other parts of Europe through the Port of Amsterdam. Thanks to the new corridor between Bilbao and Amsterdam, it will be possible to unite two developing regions in terms of hydrogen, improving the trade of renewable hydrogen and synthetic fuels, as well as the exchange of knowledge and experience.
Soon, both companies will discuss the next steps of collaboration to strengthen the Spanish-Dutch relationship and contribute to the general objective of reducing polluting emissions.
It is worth mentioning that the Port of Bilbao is also currently part of the Basque Hydrogen Corridor, an initiative aimed at decarbonizing various sectors. This collaboration is in line with EVE’s Basque Hydrogen Strategy, which promotes both local use and expansion to international markets, and with the Dutch government’s drive towards renewable hydrogen.
On the other hand, the Bilbao Port Authority has taken the first steps to electrify the A-5 pier, an initiative that forms part of its energy transition plan.
