BRASILIA (Reuters) – The Minister of the Civil House, Rui Costa, denied on Thursday that the government has plans to extend the incentive program for the automotive sector currently in force.
According to the minister, the success of the program that grants tax credit to companies that are willing to offer discounts attests to the government’s commitment that the offer of credit stimulates consumption and economic growth.
“It is not in the government’s planning”, said Costa after a ministerial meeting lasting more than 9 hours with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
Costa also said that during the conversation, members of the government celebrated the recent figures for the economy.
