The death toll from heavy rains in Malaysia has risen to 46.

Also, at least 5 people are reported missing.

Malaysia, a Southeast Asian country, has been reeling under floods since last week due to heavy rains.

Although October to March is the rainy season every year, this year saw the heaviest rainfall in Malaysia.

8 provinces have been severely affected by the incessant heavy rains. The worst affected cities are Pahang and Selangor in the province of Peninsula, Malaysia.

Thousands of homes in various provinces were flooded due to heavy rains.

A total of 54,532 people have been rescued from the low-lying areas and are being housed in more than 300 relief camps.

The death toll from unprecedented torrential rains and floods has risen to 46.

“Five more people are missing. We hope they will be found soon,” said Superintendent of Police Agril Sani Abdullah Sani.
