At the Cosmonaut Training Center named after Yu.A. Gagarin (TsPK) tested the layout of the lunar spacesuit. About it reported at Roscosmos.

The suit will be used by Russian cosmonauts when they go to the lunar surface. The deputy head of the CTC for the training of cosmonauts, the commander of the detachment Oleg Kononenko participated in the tests. He tested the layout on the Vykhod-2 weightless simulator.

Kononenko explained that he checked the mobility and performance of the suit. “Impressions are the most positive. The suit is quite spacious, the bearings are installed in such a way that the mobility of the arms is increased, the working surface and reach are expanded. The volume of the helmet is such that I can easily turn my head and look in different directions,” he said.

The spacesuit model was developed and created by the Zvezda Research and Production Enterprise, and the Central Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering and the CPC also participated in the project. Alexander Tyukhtin, deputy chief designer of Zvezda, added that the mock-up was created to evaluate the operation of the hinges under lunar gravity.

On August 11, it is planned to launch the Luna-25 automatic station from the Vostochny cosmodrome. The Luna-25 mission should be the first lunar mission in the history of modern Russia. It provides for the study of the natural satellite of the Earth from orbit and surface, the collection and delivery of lunar soil to Earth.
