The PP will send the PSOE its proposal on electoral debates next Tuesday and asks to negotiate in writing
The PP is going to wait until next Tuesday, June 20, to submit a proposal to the PSOE on electoral debates and the face-to-face between the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez and the leader of the popular, Alberto Núñez Feijóo. This is how the PP Institutional Deputy Secretary and appointed by Feijóo to negotiate on electoral debates, Esteban González Pons, has transferred it to the PSOE Organization Secretary, Santos Cerdán, according to sources from Ferraz.
On its side, the PSOE insists on its proposal of six debates to two between Feijóo and Sánchez, in addition to several debates to four with the leaders of Sumar and Vox. Pons says that they will send their proposal on Tuesday, once they know how many candidates are definitively presenting themselves for the general elections on July 23, since the term ends next Monday, June 19.
In addition, he invites Cerdán to do the same that same day. He points out, according to the aforementioned sources, that the first part of the negotiation will be kept “in writing” to “avoid misunderstandings” and maintain a “structured dialogue.”
The day after calling the early elections, Sánchez launched Feijóo the proposal to hold six face-to-face debates, one a week until voting day.
This same Friday, Cerdán has sent another letter to González Pons in which he points out that the PP’s response is a “kick forward” and also a lack of consideration for the citizenry who, in his opinion, claims that Feijóo feels face to face Face with Sánchez and show if you have an alternative project for the country.
