After abandoning the Giro d’Italia due to coronavirus, Aleksandr Vlasov will redirect his objectives, throwing all the cards for the Tour of Spain, to which he gave priority despite having the option of going to the Tour de France on the table.
This was confirmed by a source from BORA-hansgrohe to Sporza. The Russian was offered a place for the gala round, of which he was 5th in its last edition, but in the presence of several bosses of the structure such as Jai Hindley, Sergio Higuita and Emanuel Buchmann, he chose to guarantee a greater personal role and lead in the last grand tour of the year.
The decision also involves freeing himself from greater pressure and having a calmer and longer preparation, in order to be up to the goal and bury his disappointment on Italian roads in the past.
