Un new ceasefire was agreed between the army and the paramilitaries at war au Sudan, Saudi diplomacy announced on Saturday June 17. It comes into force on Sunday at 6 a.m. local time (6 a.m. in France) and will last seventy-two hours.
“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States announce the agreement of the representatives of the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) for a ceasefire throughout the Sudan for a period of 72 hours from Sunday,” a statement from the Saudi Foreign Ministry said.
If the former have not been respected, the last ceasefire agreed between the two belligerents, last week, was held.

The fighting since April 15 between the army of General Abdel Fattah al-Burhane and the paramilitaries of the FSR, led by General Mohamed Hamdane Daglo, has plunged this East African country, one of the poorest in the world , in an inextricable crisis.
