Intel is preparing the launch of the first Meteor Lake processors, which will include them in a new generation with their own nomenclature, but they will only be for laptops. The Meteor Lake S for desktops would have been cancelled, and instead there would be a Raptor Lake refresh: same slightly optimized lithography, higher frequencies and higher consumption. Not ideal. They would make up the 14th generation Core and would hit the market according to the latest rumors in October.

One advantage of these processors is that there would be no new motherboards. The current ones will be updated for those 14th generation Cores, and in fact some manufacturer is already distributing BIOS updates for “new processors” from Intel. So at least the LGA 1700 socket will live another year. Not too bad.

The Chinese rumorologist from which this date has come has also given the launch of other Intel products. For example, what was said above would be for the Raptor Lake S refresh with a K processor, for overfrequency, while the non-K ones would be renewed between November and December of this year. Those Meteor Lake H would be maintained for the last quarter of this year, and the desktop Arrow Lake S would arrive at the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025, which would already be an important revolution in Intel desktop processors. Also at the beginning of 2024 the Sapphire Rapids refreshment for data centers, the Xeon W-2500 and W-3500, would arrive.
