After many rumors, it is officially confirmed. Luís Semedo, a young promise from Benfica’s youth team, is joining Sunderland, with the two clubs confirming the agreement.
With ‘Black Cats‘, the 19-year-old striker has signed a five-year contract, leaving for the first time on an international adventure after being part of Benfica since… he was eight.
Despite Benfica and Sunderland talking about a permanent transfer (the English even talk about «undisclosed money»), Luís Semedo will arrive at the Stadium of Light at zero cost due to the end of his contract with the eagles.
Next season, Sunderland will return to play in the Championship, after failing to climb to the Premier League: they fell in the play-off semis against Luton Town.
Welcome, Hemir ????????????
