And difficult? Not at all, it’s a piece of – vegan – cake!

The largest greenhouse gas emissions come from livestock farming. This contributes to global warming. In addition, factory farming is a greater cause of environmental problems. Think of water and air pollution, acidification, soil pollution and loss of biodiversity through, among other things, the felling of rainforests. A plant-based diet is therefore much more sustainable and better for the planet.

It is a misconception that a plant-based diet does not contain all the nutrients you need. Although you will sometimes have to check ingredient lists more often to see if you are enough ironprotein, calcium and vitamins.

Studies show that by eating plant-based more often, you reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and cancer. Plant-based foods also often contain less saturated fats and cholesterol.

There are many top athletes who are in top shape with a plant-based diet, such as driver Lewis Hamilton, actor and Kung Fu expert Jackie Chan and tennis player Novak Djokovic.

Vegan food is of course also much better for the animals. A vegan lifestyle saves a lot of animal suffering and many animal lives. The more people adopt a vegan diet, the less animals are bred, imprisoned, exploited and killed.

In addition, a vegan lifestyle also contributes positively to the well-being of fellow human beings. The bio-industry uses more than 70% of the agricultural land. This farmland could be used a lot more efficiently to grow food for people instead of animals and thus fight famine in the world.

Today, stores are full of plant-based alternatives to meat and dairy. Meat substitutes, plant-based yogurt, vegan cheese: it’s all here! And nowadays these alternatives are no more way more expensive than meat and dairy products in the supermarket. So it’s also good for your wallet.
