Who is Space X’s new recruit? At 14, Kairan Quazi is breaking records. He landed a job at Space X and just graduated from Santa Clara University, where he’s been attending since he was 11. He is the youngest graduate in the history of this American university. A true prodigy, he studied engineering and computer science there.
Despite his incredible journey, the young man saw himself closing doors, in particular because of his age. Kairan, who had applied for dozens of jobs since the fall, received three offers but suffered 95 refusals according to several American media. “I think one of the things I really want to do with telling my story is hopefully get leaders in influential positions to challenge their biases. (…) I hope I can open the door to more people like me,” he said in the Los Angeles Times.
His age, more recently it was the LinkedIn network that reminded him, restricting his account. “LinkedIn just sent me a notice to delete my account because I’m under 16. This is the illogical nonsense I am constantly confronted with,” tweeted Kairan Quazi.
The young prodigy must start his new job in July. He will join the teams of Starlink, Space X’s satellite Internet service provider, as a “software engineer”.
