The CPI in France moderated in May

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) of France was located in May at 5.1% in the interannual rate, eight tenths below the increase of 5.9% of the previous month, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (Insee).

In the case of harmonized inflation, used by Eurostat in its statistics, the interannual rate for France in May fell to 6% from 6.9% the previous month.

The slowdown in the rise in prices in May was due to the lower increase in energy prices (+2% compared to +6.8%), as well as food (+14.3% compared to +15%) , manufactured goods (+4.1% vs. +4.6%) and services (+3% after +3.2%).
