The statue of Mirtha Legrand, made by this sculptor with the curious surname “Meloso”, was not to the liking of its recipient, nor was it his followers. Because? Because he failed to characterize it in the basic elements that dominate, protect and immortalize every work of art, which are: perfection, beauty and spirituality. Otherwise, obviously, the work is reduced to a simple sample of the material. I think that the intrinsic value of a work of art is the spiritual halo that emanates to capture the viewer, beyond its material support. How the artist-author can arrive at this creation is a mystery. We can only say that not everyone is qualified with that wonderful gift that springs from the soul of the creator, to settle forever in the delivery of it. And not all artists own it.
