After the destruction of the Kakhovka dam in southern Ukraine, Russia has transferred large contingents of troops to other sectors of the front, according to British intelligence.

“The regrouping of Army Group Dnipro likely reflects the Russian perception that a major Ukrainian attack across the Dnipro is now less likely following the collapse of the Kakhovka Dam and the resulting flooding,” the Ministry of Defense said in London today. It is believed that the dam was destroyed by Russia.

The units previously stationed on the east bank of the Dnipro are now strengthening the sections in the Zaporizhia region and near Bakhmut in the east, the report said. “These may include thousands of soldiers from the 49th Army, including the 34th Motorized Brigade, as well as Airborne and Marine units.”

Since the beginning of the Russian war of aggression, the ministry has published information on the course of the war on a daily basis. Moscow accuses London of disinformation.
