Jaipur: Himachal Pradesh won the Vijay Hazare Cup ODI series for the first time. Tamil Nadu – Himachal teams clashed in the final yesterday at Sawai Mansingh Stadium. Himachal won the toss and elected to bowl out Tamil Nadu for 314 in 49.4 overs. With the first 4 batsmen out for a paltry run (40/4 in 14.3 overs), Dinesh Karthik and Baba Indrajith put on 202 for the fifth wicket.
Dinesh was unbeaten on 116 (103 off 103 balls, 8 fours, 7 sixes) and Indrajith on 80 (71 off 71 balls, 8 fours, 1 six). Shah Rukh Khan scored 42 (21 off 21 balls, 3 fours, 3 sixes) while skipper Vijay Shankar scored 22. Sunder and Silambarasan were out for 1 each. For Himachal, Pankaj Jaswal took 4 wickets and captain Rishi took 3 wickets. The match was called off due to lack of light when Himachal scored 299 for 4 in 47.3 overs. Starter Shubham Arora (136 off 131 balls, 13 fours, 1 six) and Rishi (42 off 23 balls, 5 fours, 1 six) were on the field.
