SOUTH TANGERANG – A young man named Ilyas Gamelani (26) is missing sink at Setu 7 Muara, Pondok Benda, Pamulang, South Tangerang, Tuesday (20/6/2023). The joint SAR team is still searching for the tattooed man’s body.
The search for victims was equipped with 2 rubber boats belonging to the Tangsel Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD). Since 02.30 WIB, officers have been looking for victims.
Tangsel BPBD Task Force Platoon Commander (Danton), Dian Wiryawan said, the depth of Setu 7 Muara reached 3 meters. However, the rescue workers experienced terrain difficulties due to the thick muddy bottom of Setu up to 1.5 meters.
“The team experienced difficulties because the setu was filled with mud,” he said.
He said, initially officers conducted a search by swimming manually. However, due to the thickness of the mud, the search method was changed to using artificial waves, and currently using nets.
“The goal is so that if the victim’s body gets stuck at the bottom, it can be lifted and pushed. So now we are combing it using a net,” he said.
Until now the police have not provided chronological details of the drowning of the victim. Currently there is a man who is still being investigated by the police.
Allegedly, the man was a witness at the location when the victim drowned early this morning. Rumors circulated that the victim drowned while trying to help a man who almost drowned in Setu Pamulang.
The man who was helped was involved in an argument with the victim because of the issue of an affair.
