In order to stop the spread of the variant of the micron variant in Israel, members of the Corona Cabinet approved last Thursday the new outline that will be implemented in the education system. Tomorrow morning (Monday) the new restrictions will take effect and they will mainly affect thousands of schoolchildren in the orange and red localities. The new “Green Class” outline, updated to Omicron, has already been approved and applied to all schools.

The outline of the new education
- In orange and red authorities, there will be no frontal studies in grades 7-12 in which the vaccination rate is less than 70%, but in open space or online learning.
- In first-sixth grades in red authorities, there will be a policy of reducing contacts while giving priority to frontal learning, unless 70% of the students in the class are vaccinated.
- A student will be considered vaccinated even if he received only the first vaccine dose, and this for 30 days from receiving the first vaccine dose – valid until January 9, 2022.
- In green and yellow localities, the education system will continue to operate as a series, subject to the “Shield of Education” and “Green Class” programs.
- According to the new “Green Class” outline, a verified student for Omicron or two verified students for a delta in the class – will cause all students in the class to go into seven days of isolation. On the first and seventh day the students will undergo corona tests.
According to the summary, the education outline will take effect in the elementary schools (Sunday-Friday) starting in another three weeks. Until that time, contact reduction policies will be implemented in elementary schools.

On Tuesday it was decided that during the month of January the state funding for antigen testing for children for the purpose of a green mark will be stopped. It is written that the state will continue to fund antigen tests for immunosuppressed people of all ages.
In addition, it will be possible to obtain a green card certificate for one month from the receipt of the first vaccine, in order to enter the education system and areas where the rules of the green card apply, but not in order to receive an exemption from isolation. This decision will take effect after the completion of the required adjustments in the computer systems of the Ministry of Health.
In addition, PCR sampling will be performed twice a week for employees who do not have a green mark in the external frameworks of the Ministry of Welfare, including: elderly institutions, people with disabilities, child and youth frameworks, proper administration and more.
