The summons before the industrial tribunal targets four giants in the sector, Vinci, Eiffage, Spie Batignolles and GCC, the main contractors for the future Olympic sites, but also eight subcontractors who directly employed these African workers, many originating from Mali.

The ten workers, since regularized, who have been denouncing for several months their ” exploitation ” on these sites where they worked without a contract of employment or payslip, ask “ recognition of an employment contract “, explained to AFP the trade unionist CGT Richard Bloch, who accompanied them in their process of regularization.

Unpaid wages and dismissals without real and serious cause

In the file filed on March 31, the union and the workers are also asking for the payment of “ arrears of unpaid wages, the recognition of a dismissal without real and serious cause “, and that be committed “ the responsibility of the contractors in resorting to this irregular work.

A year ago, the public prosecutor’s office in Bobigny, near Paris, opened a preliminary investigation, in particular for ” hidden work » et « employment as a foreigner without a title in an organized gang after checks identified several irregular workers at an Olympic site.
