The Chancellery said that through the Embassy of Ecuador in Panama he accompanied the communicator Veronica Ibarra to a mediation hearing that seeks to resolve the legal situation with the former diplomat Enrique Gomez.

The communicator declared this June 19 in La Posta that today is 11 days that she has not received concrete help from the Ecuadorian authorities.

He acknowledged that he received “a couple of calls” and the attempt of a negotiation with Gómez to provide his signature and allow the minor to leave for Ecuador.

“However, nothing has been done, they could not make him sign nor have they given us any kind of support,” he assured when questioning that days ago from the Embassy they insisted that he present the complaint in person. She did not do it on the recommendation of lawyers who assist her in Panama.

Despite what was said by the Foreign Ministry, Ibarra is concerned about being seized when attending the Embassy because she suspects that the father of her child would still enjoy diplomatic immunity.

In this sense, the Ecuadorian Foreign Ministry reiterated that since June 11 it has maintained permanent contact with Ibarra to negotiate with the Embassy of Ecuador in Panama and with the Panamanian authorities for his protection and that of his two children.
