Voces de la Lengua forms part of the cultural program of the Spanish Presidency of the EU

This is the only event in La Rioja that is included in this cultural agenda, which is why, for the artistic director of Voces de la Lengua, Ignacio García, it means “great pride to share leadership with others of the importance of the Festival Grec de Barcelona and the Almadro Festival.

Voices of the Language was born “around the beauty of the word in Spanish”, the Government of La Rioja detailed this Friday in a note.

This program takes place in the La Rioja area of ​​San Millán de la Cogolla, a World Heritage Site for being considered the cradle of Spanish and whose Yuso monastery is the headquarters of the Global Observatory of Spanish and the International Center for Research on the Spanish Language ( Cilengua).

Voces de la Lengua is configured as a center for artistic creation, in which “the word in Spanish is spoken, recited, dramatized, lived, written, sung and told”, as detailed on its website.

It is also a focus for reflection on what Spanish was, is and can be, “a hotbed for research, learning, tourism, cultural leisure and artistic excellence”; as well as “a space of present and future”.
