A 56-year-old was contacted and messaged by a female profile on the social network. After a few chats, the man was ready to have an erotic video call with the new acquaintance.
They agreed to leave the camera on during the conversation – and watch each other masturbating. The man got started – when he was done, the other person switched off the call.
And the extreme lust suddenly turned into frustration! The man was threatened and blackmailed via internet message. He was told that a video was being made of his masturbation. And should he not transfer several hundred euros, the film would be published, e.g. B. sent to friends or family.
A police spokesman told BILD: “Out of shame, the man agreed to the claim and transferred a mid-three-digit amount.” When further demands came, the blackmail victim filed a complaint. The police spokesman: “We then advised him to block the contact and not to make any further payments.”
Apparently it worked. The man has been quiet since then. How big is the risk that such videos will actually be published? The police spokesman: “According to information from the specialist department, this is extremely rare. Ultimately, the perpetrators have none of it. They’re more likely to look for their next victim.”

The police also have a tip that is actually a matter of course: “We strongly recommend never sending naked or intimate photos via video messages or making video calls – especially not with strangers.” Likewise, one should not reply to automated emails that claim that being filmed consuming pornographic videos.
