Chennai: 17.31 lakh people have been vaccinated against coronavirus in the 16th mega vaccination camp held across Tamil Nadu, medical officials said. The 16th Mega Corona Vaccination Camp was held yesterday at a total of 50,000 locations across Tamil Nadu, including primary health centers, government hospitals, anganwadi centers, nutrition centers, schools, railway stations and parks. The corona vaccination camp operated at 1,600 locations in Chennai alone. Health workers, anganwadi workers, teachers and volunteers were involved in the vaccination drive.
All those over the age of 18 and the general public who had not been vaccinated came to these camps with interest and were vaccinated. Accordingly, 17.31 lakh people have been vaccinated at the vaccination camp since yesterday morning. Today is also a holiday for health workers involved in vaccination camp work. Therefore, vaccination centers will not be operational today, medical officials said.
