According to RMC Sport, the coaching soap opera will end at OM with the arrival of Marcelino Garcia Toral on the bench of the Marseille club for two years.

According to information from RMC Sport, an agreement was reached overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday between Olympique de Marseille and Marcelino. Free since the end of his adventure with Athletic Bilbao last summer, the 57-year-old Spanish coach will join the Marseille club. The technician who passed through Seville will therefore succeed Igor Tudor on the bench and discover a new championship.

Even if some details are still to be settled, Marcelino will sign for two years with OM, i.e. until 2025. As soon as Tudor’s departure was announced, OM explored several avenues including those leading to Marcelo Gallardo, Paulo Fonseca or Christophe Galtier, but the native of Careñes has always been the priority of President Pablo Longoria. The two men have known each other well for several years. Friends in life, they have also already collaborated on the Valencia side from 2018 to 2019, when the first officiated there as a coach and the second as a sporting director.
