Quito, June 21, 2023

We are getting closer to meeting the goal of vaccinating 3.7 million children between 1 and 12 years of age against polio, measles and rubella, as part of the national campaign that takes place in the 24 provinces.

As of June 17, 2023, 2,953,072 children have been vaccinated. We are currently in the second stage of the Ecuador campaign free of poliomyelitis, measles and rubella. It consists of executing extramural activities with the support of vaccination brigades in homes (door to door), places of mass concentration such as bus terminals, parks and shopping centers.

Beneficiaries receive an additional dose against these diseases to protect their health and life.

In the province of Napo, users also applaud this massive campaign. “I vaccinated my son with the certainty that he will be free from dangerous diseases such as polio, measles and rubella. I thank the MSP because the vaccine is free and I obey what the doctors at the Archidona Health Center recommend. Since he was born, I have treated him there and he is healthy, ”said Edgar Suqui, father of 4-year-old Nicolás.

This successful result is thanks to the commitment of the National Government that, through the support of public institutions, the Decentralized Autonomous Governments, the Academy, the Armed Forces and the National Police, protects the health of children and all Ecuadorians.

Vaccines are available free of charge in more than 2,000 health centers, both for this campaign that will last until July 9, 2023 and those that belong to the regular scheme in force in the country and against Covid-19.

Each vaccine counts in the development of boys and girls. Vaccines save lives!
