The diseases that cause a great impact on public health are immunopreventable diseases, those that can be prevented with the use of vaccines. Currently, the burden of these diseases and childhood mortality have been reduced by the introduction of vaccines. Smallpox has been eradicated, poliomyelitis will soon be eradicated, and the goal is to eliminate measles. Hence the importance of timely vaccination of children, adolescents and adults according to the national scheme established by the National Immunization Strategy (ENI). In Ecuador, surveillance is carried out on immunopreventable diseases such as: Measles, Rubella, Mumps, Whooping Cough, Diphtheria, Meningococcal Meningitis, Polio, Tetanus, Varicella, Hepatitis B.
