The inscriptions of the pairings of the Citizen Revolution and Construye were approved.

The presidential candidacies of Luisa González (RC) and Fernando Villavicencio (Construye) were qualified by the plenary session of the National Electoral Council (CNE), once the political organizations that sponsor the candidates completed the missing information for their registrations to be approved.

Last Friday, June 16, the CNE denied the registration of the candidacies of the pair formed by Luisa González and Andrés Arauz, from the Revolución Ciudadana (RC) movement, list 5, as well as the duo between Fernando Villavicencio and Andrea González, from the movement Build, list 25, because the documentation they delivered was incomplete. They were given 48 hours to correct the observations.

Within the established term, each binomial delivered the missing data. Thus, on the night of Tuesday, June 20, the plenary session of the electoral body, based on a technical report, unanimously approved the registrations.

The candidates of the Citizen Revolution did not present the work plan for the dignities of president and vice president of the Republic, in breach of article 97 of the Code of Democracy.

Meanwhile, the Construye team had not included the general and specific objectives in the work plan or in the multi-year plan. In addition, Andrea González had not signed her resume.

With this decision of the CNE, the eight candidates for the Presidency of the Republic have been approved and qualified.

The official list of registered candidates is scheduled to be announced on August 6 (after having resolved all legal resources).

The electoral campaign will be from August 8 to 17. While the suffrage of the anticipated elections will be on Sunday, August 20. (YO)
