After the Decathlon and Monop’ corner, or the parcel pick-up point, Franprix is continuing with its “quarter-hour city” policy by offering a new locker service. This guarding of the suitcases is provided by his young partner Nannybaga French start-up that offers to store travelers’ suitcases in grocery stores, hotels or restaurants.

Matthieu Ballester, CEO and co-founder of Nannybag, has set himself the goal of working with “all places on the ground floor that have fixed hours” in order to crisscross the major French cities and that tourists can drop off bags and suitcases at least five minutes.

Insurance in the event of breakage, loss or theft

For the Paris Olympics in the summer of 2024, he aims to have a set point every 500 m. In full growth, the brand claims to register “registrations of establishments every day and, for the moment, accepts all types of businesses”.

In the test phase in 20 stores in Île-de-France, this system should be extended to half of the French stores in the coming year: “It’s already huge, knowing that in Paris, we have a store every 300 m,” emphasizes Vincent Doumerc, CEO of Franprix. Bags, suitcases and shopping bags will be stored safely in the reserves or basements of Franprix in Paris, Lyon or Marseille.

No worries on the part of the two leaders regarding security: “Out of more than a million suitcases entrusted, we had two flights”, reassures Matthieu Ballester. And to reassure customers, breakage, loss or theft insurance covers damage up to 1,000 euros per piece of luggage.

With 90% of the market share in France and the unbeatable price of 6 euros per day, Nannybag is part of this “100% winning” partnership in a global strategy to increase its visibility.

For Franprix, this is part of its general policy: “to simplify people’s lives”. Alongside swimming pool goggles for children and yoga mats, we can now pick up a small biodegradable cloakroom ticket from Franprix, which allows us to leave empty-handed while ensuring that our suitcases are in good hands.
