Guadalajara, Jal. The number of deaths rose to six and the number of injured reached 21, after the carambola that occurred yesterday on the Guadalajara highway at the Jalisco Highlands at kilometer 44, state sources confirmed.
Until last night the report was of five deaths and 14 injured, but in the following hours and after the rescuers removed the impacted or burned vehicles, the balance increased.
Governor Enrique Alfaro reported that emergency officers were still at the scene this Thursday, supporting the removal of vehicles and he himself offered the report confirmed by the Jalisco Emergency Medical Care System (SAMU), which in turn reported that the 21 injured were transferred to hospitals in Tepatitlán for their attention, since their health condition ranges from regular to serious.

The accident involved six trucks, four compact cars, four tractor-trailers, a torton and a valuables truck, most of which were burned or destroyed after the crash.
In addition to Luz Sagrario González, former councilor of Guadalajara and who was an ISSSTE official, José Ignacio Vaca Helguero, a rancher from the Los Altos region, and the veterinarian Gustavo Manuel Ríos García have already been identified among the deceased.
