Atlético de Madrid will hold a consultation with its members this weekend about the possibility of recovering the old shield, a claim that fans have been making since the club decided to change it in 2016 for considering that it violated the historical signs of the entity.
This was announced this Thursday by the team after the meeting of the Social Commission at the Cívitas Metropolitano, in which those responsible have presented a report on the implementation of the current Atlético de Madrid shield and the impact that a hypothetical change of it would have.
After evaluating said report, prepared with data from Nielsen, Deloitte Football Money League, Football Benchmark, LaLiga and data from the internal audit, the members of the commission have proposed to carry out said consultation “immediately” this same weekend.
However, the consultation will not be binding. According to the statement issued by the club, a notary will duly record the results and these will be analyzed by the entity, which will be the one who, once the members who want to return to the old shield have been quantified, “will make the corresponding decisions.”
How to participate in the consultation
Only members may participate in this consultation. This same Friday, they will receive an email with details on how to participate from the usual channel. “This system is safe, reliable and is already widely known and used by our members on a daily basis to carry out their efforts,” says the club.
Participation will be open without interruption from Saturday 24 at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday 25 at 6:00 p.m.
