Between relative majority, multiple motions of censure tabled by the opposition, sanctions pronounced against several deputies or even recourse to 49.3 by Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne, this parliamentary year has not been stingy with twists and turns.
The hemicycle, chaired by Yaël Braun-Pivet helped by its many vice-presidents representing all the political colors of the Assembly, was in perpetual ferment. In figures (source National Assembly as of June 22, 2023), a look back at a year unlike any other.
251. The number of deputies from the presidential camp (Renaissance and its allies Horizons and MoDem) which therefore only has a relative majority. It does not reach the 289 seats necessary for an absolute majority.

She thus comes in second place among the heads of government who have made the most use of this article. The first is the socialist Michel Rocard who had drawn it 28 times but over four years, between 1988 and 1991.
17. The number of times a motion of no confidence was tabled by opposition MPs to force him to resign. A record. All were rejected. That filed on March 20 by the Liot group, after 49.3 on pensions, had failed by nine votes.
