“Dallas Buyers Club” director Jean-Marc Vallée is dead

Dhe Canadian director and producer Jean-Marc Vallée (“Dallas Buyers Club”) has died at the age of 58, according to media reports. He was found dead on the weekend in his hut outside of Quebec City in his home country, US media reported unanimously on Monday night (local time). His spokeswoman Bumble Ward said that the death was “unexpected”. Further details were not initially known.

As the director of the British period film “Victoria, die Junge Königin” (2009) with Emily Blunt in the title role of the same name, Vallée, who grew up in Montreal, first attracted attention.
