The war in Ukraine has entered an unforeseen phase after the turns taken by the Wagner mercenary group, which at times have changed enemies. The men of Yevgueni Prigozhin, the head of the Wagner group, were heading towards Moscow to overthrow Russian President Vladimir Putin, in an unexpected offensive since the two were allies until now.
As Russian authorities used bulldozers to dig trenches on major highways in the Lipetsk region, whose capital is some 360 kilometers from Moscow, to try to stop Wagner’s advance from Rostov to Moscow, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has contacted Prigozhin, to agree to a brake on his offensive and thus avoid a bloodbath.
