The career of the singer, who died on Saturday June 24, started in 1980 with the song Madame. He had several successes until the 90s.

He was the author of hits that marked the 80s. At 69, singer Claude Barzotti died of cancer. “Barzotti preferred to be called a singer of emotion rather than a romantic. He was a lively flayed, a real sensitive (…)”, indicated his manager, Laurent Comtat.

During his career, the Belgian singer of Italian origin has released several successful titles, which have become emblematic of the 80s. A look back at his greatest successes.

Madame (1981)

Taken from the album of the same name and released in 1981, this hit was the singer’s first big hit. In total, more than 1.7 million copies are sold.

The Rital (1983)

This piece is one of the best known of the singer. It ranks in particular number one at the box office in France and earned him the nickname “the Rital”. In this title, he evokes his Italian origins and claims: “I am rital and I remain so, and in the verb, and in the gesture.”

I won’t write to you again (1983)

In this title co-written with Anne-Marie Gaspard, Barzotti portrays himself as a disappointed lover rejected by a woman who does not understand his tastes: “I wrote everything and without shame (…), I’m writing to you one last time, it’s my last song for you.”

Love Me (1990)

The singer’s last big hit, taken from his sixth album, in 1990. After a long period of calm and relative success, he is back with this slow, which deviates slightly from his usual variety.

We always have someone with us (1991)

While his career was on the decline, Claude Barzotti participated in the charity collective Télévie, alongside singers Axelle Red, Benny B, Nathalie Pâque, Frank Michael… Together, they performed We always have someone with us.
