DECRYPTION – The Americans have been monitoring for months the growing rivalry between Wagner’s mercenaries and their leader, Evgueni Prigojine, and the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Washington has maintained a cautious silence in the face of the revolt by Russian mercenaries. According to official sources, Biden had been warned since Wednesday by his intelligence services of an imminent action by Prigojine and his private army, the Wagner group. But instead of releasing this information as they have repeatedly since the invasion of Ukraine, the Americans refrained from commenting.
