NEW DELHI: Chef Lakhan Singh has won the ‘Biryani Champion League’ competition to select the best biryani chef of New Delhi.
The ‘Davath Biryani Championship League’, which selects the chef who cooks the best biryani among restaurants in New Delhi, was held yesterday at ITC, Sheraton Hotel.
In the first round, 200 people participated. In this, five people who were selected for the finals clashed the day before yesterday. Famous chefs such as Lakshman Singh, Mohammad Shan, Moinuddin, Rabe Azam, Lakhan Singh have clashed.
The final was allotted 90 minutes. Their biryani was then tasted by chef Manjit Gill, Vanshika Bhatia and food critic Veer Sanghvi and selected the winner.
In this, Chef Lakhan Singh from Market Place Restaurant in West Delhi was selected as the winner.
He was awarded a cash prize of Rs 51,000, a championship trophy and a top chef trophy.
