A 16-year-old patient developed a giant tumor, but thanks to the care of IMSS medical personnel, it was removed.
After an ultrasound it was identified that the fibroid measured 60×60 centimeters and weighed more than 10 kilograms.

A multidisciplinary team from the IMSS-Bienestar de Tecuala Hospital in Nayarit performed a second surgical intervention to benefit the health of a patient from the Tepehuana ethnic group. With this, the extirpation of a fibroid that had a larger than a soccer ball and had a weight of about more than 10 kilograms.
The director of the IMSS-Wellness Hospital of Tecuala Nayarit, doctor Pedro Jiménez Vega reported that the minor patient Abril “N” aged 16, is originally from the community of El Filo in the same municipality. She presented intense pain as an evolution of more than two months.
“The underage patient was treated in a timely manner due to a diagnosis of a giant left ovarian cyst tumor. This surgery was carried out thanks to the fact that the Hospital has sufficient supplies, a functional operating room, an available blood bank and what is complete staff in the surgical area”.
He explained that the surgery went without complications. got a tumor mass weighing approximately 10 kilos. After surgery, the patient showed a very good recovery with no health complications.
Dr. Jiménez Vea pointed out that after the surgical intervention and after three days of observation, the patient was discharged home, practically with her health recovered and with a higher quality life expectancy.

The mother of the minor, Mrs. Claudia Sujey “N” expressed her feelings regarding the care given to her daughter, “thank all the doctors, anesthesiologists, gynecologists, nurses and everyone here at IMSS-Bienestar from Tecuala. It is very good care, there are a lot of doctors and specialists and it has a good service”.
