At the end of 2022, the joint earnings of Sberbank, Yandex, VTB and VK on solutions in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) amounted to 137.3 billion rubles. This is stated in the joint rating compiled by the neural network of Beeline and Brand Analytics, as well as companies and institutions that are engaged in AI in Russia. Excerpts from the rankings TASS.
The amount of Sberbank’s revenue for the past year from AI solutions amounted to 93.8 billion rubles. Sberbank invested 10 billion rubles in artificial intelligence solutions, the volume of purchases of companies for the development of AI is 14.7 billion rubles. Yandex earned 11.5 billion rubles from AI solutions, the volume of purchases of companies – 27.7 million rubles.
According to the rating, VTB’s earnings from the implementation of AI reached 23.7 billion rubles, the amount of investment in AI solutions is 80 million. The volume of purchases of companies developing this area is estimated at 123.6 billion rubles. Solutions in the field of artificial intelligence brought VK 8.3 billion rubles, the amount of purchases of companies from this area amounted to 153.8 million rubles.
In addition to these companies, Gazprombank and retailer Magnit also invested in AI solutions, which are in fifth and sixth places, respectively. Last year, Gazprombank allocated 28.5 billion rubles for the development of the AI sector, Magnit – 20.2 billion. They are followed by the operator MTS, the association of software developers Domestic Soft, MegaFon and Skolkovo.
The Russian authorities are also showing interest in AI technology. It is due, among other things, to the fact that its use, by raising labor productivity (for example, in the field of information security or public services), helps to solve the problem of staff shortages. According to the head of the Ministry of Economy Maxim Reshetnikov, in some industries, business is already implementing AI, but there are also areas where this is necessary, but not yet happening.
According to the report of ANO Tsifrovaya ekonomika, in Russia the average level of implementation of AI solutions in 2021 was 21%, while the global level was 54%. By 2024, the Russian authorities plan to increase this figure to 50%.
