JAKARTA – Bhayangkara University Jakarta Raya ( Ubhara Jaya ) held a Public Lecture with the theme, “The Role of Students in Efforts to Prevent Narcotics Abuse with a Contemporary-Based Approach.”
This public lecture presented speakers from the National Narcotics Agency ( BNN ) and the Anti-Drug Movement (Grenades).
This event took place in commemoration of International Anti-Narcotics Day (HANI 2023) at the Ubhara Jaya Graha Tanoto Auditorium, Campus 2 Bekasi, Tuesday (27/6/2023).
As a manager of higher education, Ubhara Jaya’s commitment is reflected in the various concrete steps taken to prevent drug abuse on campus.
“It’s been 7 years, every student who will register here, must have a urine test to make sure they are drug-free. The various achievements related to efforts to prevent drug abuse include, during the pandemic in 2020, Ubhara Jaya recorded a MURI Record for the Anti-Drug Declaration which involved 5,923 students.
In addition, Ubhara Jaya also has a Task Force in the form of a Special Unit for the Anti-Drug Movement (Granat), whose members consist of students who carry out various activities to prevent narcotics abuse in the campus environment.
“We are responsible for the future of children and the world of education in Indonesia so that there is no loss generation or generation lost due to drug abuse,” continued Chancellor Ubhara Jaya.
Member of the Advisory Council of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), Komjen Pol (Purn) Drs. Togar M Sianipar, M.Si, said that currently drug abuse among productive age groups is very concerning, every day more than 30 people die because of drugs.
