This Wednesday, Atlético de Madrid announced the holding of a vote to find out how many members want to change the club’s crest. The alternative to the current symbol is precisely the old one, used since the 60s until the “modernization” in 2017.
The election has already opened and will close this Friday at 2 pm. If the previous shield is chosen, the colchonera board promised to carry out a consultation on the feasibility of the exchange.
Last week, members of Atlético de Madrid proposed a vote at the Social Commission meeting. 44% of the members were in favor of the election, that is, 61,021 associates.
Squad leaders such as Antoine Griezmann and manager Diego Simeone made posts on social media in support of the switch to the old shield.
