The Government has approved the permits to reconcile contemplated in the Family Law and among them is that of birth. Thus, it establishes that any worker, whether male or female, who wishes to enjoy exclusive time to care for a son or daughter -or a foster minor between one and eight years old- will have right to 8 weeks parental leavebeing able to exhaust this time at once or in different stages and part-time or full-time.
This permission will be implemented gradually having a duration of six weeks in 2023 and already eight weeks from 2024.
To request it It will suffice to carry out the corresponding procedures through the Electronic Office of the Social Security, or in person at the National Institute of Social Security (INSS).
