The Municipal Firefighters reported that this Wednesday, June 28, there was a collision between two cars at kilometer 14.5 of the route to the Atlantic.
Omar Valle, spokesman for the aforementioned relief body, reported that one of the pilots died due to the trauma he suffered during the collision.
The 35-year-old victim was trapped in the wreckage of the car. In the vehicle that was overturned, they located a 29-year-old man still alive, for which he was transferred to a hospital.
Valle added that according to preliminary versions, one of the cars crossed the central flowerbed and collided with the other.

The Ruta al Atlántico CA-9 Twitter account shared the video that captured the moment of the tragedy at km 14.
The 35-second recording shows when traffic was circulating normally, but in a matter of seconds one of the cars crossed the central flowerbed and the accident occurred.
From the impact, one of the cars was propelled into a ditch where it was overturned.

Both vehicles were left with severe damage and some pieces of these were found scattered on the road. The deceased person was identified as Jonathan Aroldo Morales del Cid. The wounded man is Franklin Antonio Marroquin.
