A final. A goodbye. A non-stop hunt. You’re amazed like a child in the cinema. You go out wistfully in the longing sound of John Williams (91). It may not be the very best “Indy” – but it is the very last.

It is a declaration of love to the old romance adventurer Dr. “Indiana” Jones – that is Harrison Ford. With hat, whip and the very last Nazis. We experience three action highlights. The Second World War. The year of the moon landing (1969). And, (psst!), another one.

The action story? The hunt for a mysterious machine by Archimedes. The legend story? professor Indiana Jones must retire. The story behind the story?

Harrison Ford hunts, rides and hangs out – at a sensational 80 years (he will be a smiling 81 on July 13). This is the cinema sensation. He is the robber Hotzenplotz of adults!

We see him on the gallows in the Nazi castle, rejuvenated with sensational “AI” computer effects. We see him half-naked, hungover with an empty glass as a retired professor in New York. And we hunt with him around the world.

Hollywood icon Harrison Ford smiles at BILD: “When I’m not working, I’m just bored!” A cinema rendezvous with a legend. Laughing genius Otto Waalkes (74) at the premiere in the Berlin Zoo-Palast to BILD: “I’m a fan – for 42 years!”

The finale is part 5 of the Indy legend. Genius director Steven Spielberg (76) produces “only”, directed by James Mangold (59, “Logan, “Walk the Line”). It’s also a love letter to Spielberg, the King of Holywood.

The power woman who saves Indy from retirement is cult star Phoebe Waller-Bridge (37, “Fleabag”). The US space Nazi is the brilliant Mads Mikkelsen (57, “007: Casino Royale”, “The Rush”). And the German Hollywood star Thomas Kretschmann (60, “King Kong”) is scary good as a Nazi henchman.

But our cinematic eyes remain fascinated by Harrison Ford as he rides the subway, dangles from the gallows, almost dies, as he grins or cries or kisses. One like no other. A movie like an Indy monument. He lives and hunts immortal. Bye bye, Indy.

Conclusion: Hollywood legend Harrison Ford crowns his action cult career with the cinema finale of “Indiana Jones”. A cinema monument for the child in man. Hats off to the man in the hat.
