Baghdad / Obelisk Event: The pilgrims of the Sacred House of God continued, on Wednesday, to perform the rituals of Hajj by stoning the Jamarat in the Mina shrine in western Saudi Arabia, coinciding with the start of the first days of Eid Al-Adha.
And the Saudi Press Agency, “SPA”, reported that “the pilgrims of the Sacred House of God flocked to the hair of Mina at the dawn of the tenth day of the month of Dhul-Hijjah (..) and began throwing the Jamrah of Aqaba, following the Sunnah of the Mustafa (Muhammad), may God’s prayers and peace be upon him.”
And after the completion of throwing the ember of Aqaba, “it is prescribed for the pilgrims on this day to perform the acts of sacrifice, where they sacrifice their sacrifices and then shave their heads, then circumambulate the ancient house and seek between Safa and Marwah.”
And the pilgrims continue to complete their rituals, “so they stay on the three days of Tashreeq (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday) in the hair of Mina, and complete the throwing of the three small, then the middle, and the major, where they throw seven pebbles in each of them,” according to “SPA.”
On Tuesday, Saudi Arabia announced that the total number of pilgrims this year has reached more than 1.8 million pilgrims from more than 150 countries, including more than 184,000 from home.
The 2023 Hajj season is the first to witness a full return of pilgrims since the Corona pandemic in late 2019.
The number of pilgrims during the last season reached 899 thousand and 353, including 779 thousand and 919 from outside the Kingdom, while the Hajj season for 2021 was limited to the participation of only 60 thousand from inside the Kingdom, and the 2020 season witnessed about 10 thousand from inside Saudi Arabia only, compared to about 2.5 million in 2019 from all over the world.
