This training has been carried out within the framework of the program “Catalogue of training in mental health and addictions for the network of associations of the Confederation of MENTAL HEALTH SPAIN”, subsidized by the National Plan on Drugs of the Ministry of Health.

The format of the course was online via Zoom and took place between June 7 and 21. The study load was 20 hours, divided into 5 sessions of 3 hours and 5 asynchronous hours with practical exercises and readings on the subject. The teacher was Gisela Hansen Rodríguez, PhD in Clinical and Health Psychology, professor in the Department of Psychobiology and Clinical Psychology at the University of Barcelona and president of the Dianova Association. The professionals participating in the course had a profile of psychology, social work, occupational therapy and/or social education. Among the objectives of the course was eliminate prejudices sociocultural and stigma associated with women with addiction problems; learn the preventive strategies of the consumption of applicable drugs in women with mental disorder; define and identify symptoms related to drug use in women with mental health problems; and know the differences and peculiarities of the main mental health problems from a gender perspective and its relationship with the consumption of toxic substances in women. During the course, which had a high demand and participation, topics such as the impact of the pandemic, specific comorbidities and intersectionality of addictions, mental health, stigma and discrimination, or the specific characteristics of addictions in women were addressed. by age range. SALUD MENTAL ESPAÑA carries out the first course on gender, addictions and mental health

The objective of the training was to train professionals from the associative network of SALUD MENTAL ESPAÑA in the field of intervention with women with addiction and mental health problems.
