The federal government has asked state governments to tighten controls in the context of the growing spread of Omigron.
The spread of corona and omigron in India is having an impact at astounding speeds. Night curfews have been imposed in various states to control this. In this context, Union Home Secretary Ajay Balla wrote a letter to all the Chief Secretaries of the States and Union Territories yesterday. Of these, Omigron is three times faster to spread than a delta type virus. This is also a major challenge for corona prevention work. Its prevalence rate has been found to be particularly acute in high-risk countries.
Omigron is certified for 653 people in 22 states across India. While Omigron has been found in 116 countries around the world, it is most prevalent in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, Russia, South Africa, Vietnam and Australia. In this India must be prepared to deal with any situation.
States in particular need to strengthen the medical infrastructure of health centers in their area. Keep oxygen and essential medicines in stock. It may prohibit overcrowding at the local level. It has been advised to increase restrictions at the local level to avoid crowding, especially during festivals. Test-track-treatment should be followed. People must be forced to wear face masks to control the spread at an early stage.
Social gaps must be adhered to in order to prevent social spread. The restrictions must be strictly adhered to as the corona variant Omigron can be challenging. These restrictions have been extended to January 31. State governments can implement night-time curfews if needed.
